How To Solve Two-Step Equation: Linear Equation Solving Methods!
Equation, Addition with Multiplication:
This equation usually look like
"ax + b = c"
It means that they are linear equations because this variable has a maximum power of 1.
a,b,c are constant values. In this type of Equation constant exists on both sides of the equation.
For a solution, three things are very important.
1- If we change the side of values, the sign will also change.
2- Our goal is to leave x alone while all values take the other side of the Equation.
3- First we solve addition or Subtraction then solve multiplication and division.
Example:
Solution:
In order to solve this equation, our goal is to leave x alone.
First, we should move "9" on the other side of the Equation. "+9" will be changed into "-9" because with the changing of the side of the value, the sign will also change.
Now x is in multiplication with 3. So, 3 will move to the other side of the equation. Here, 3 is multiple with x while the other side will divide by two.
Here x is alone on one side while the other values are on the other side of the equation.
Equation, Addition With Division:
This equation normally belongs to
"X/a + b = c"
Where a,b,c are the constant values. This equation is also a linear equation and has constant on both sides of the equation.
The goals for solving this equation are the same as mentioned in "Equation, Addition with multiplication".
Example:
Solution:
In order to solve this equation, our goal is to leave x alone.
So, x is bound with 3 in division form. First, we move 4 from the left side to the right side of Equation. "-4" will be converted into "+4".
X/3 = 26
Now, 3 will move from the left to the right side of the equation. 3 will be multiplied by 26 when 3 moves on the right side of the equation. Because on the left side 3 is in a division with x.
X = 78.
